Failed-payment recovery for Stripe and PayPal · runs on any machine you have

Recover the revenue a declined card is quietly stealing.

Most subscription churn is not a decision. It is a card that failed and a follow-up that never came. RevGuard wins those customers back automatically and heads off the next failures before they happen. It runs on free automation software on any machine with an internet connection, so your billing data never leaves your hands.

One price, forever. No cut of recoveries PCI-safe: never sees a card number A human answers your email, any hour

Vathsalya and NeurAI are early RevGuard users who agreed to share these figures as feedback and promotional material.

The bundle · three workflows

Recover what failed. Prevent what is about to.

Three automation workflows that cover both ends of involuntary churn: the payment that already bounced, on Stripe or PayPal, and the card about to expire. They install into free automation software such as n8n, on any machine with an internet connection, in about 15 minutes.

Product 01 · Stripe recovery

Failed-Payment Recovery

The moment a charge fails, it goes to work: it finds out why the card failed and responds the right way, without ever bothering a customer who has already paid.

  • Smart retries by decline reason. Payday-timed for insufficient funds, fast for glitches, skipped for dead cards. Always within Visa and Mastercard limits.
  • Escalating emails, only if needed. A warm, human sequence with a one-click, no-login "update your card" button.
  • Stops the instant they pay. Re-checks before every retry and every email. No "you emailed me after I paid."

Product 02 · PayPal recovery

PayPal Subscription Recovery

PayPal retries a failed charge on its own, then suspends the subscription and stops. RevGuard picks up exactly where PayPal leaves off.

  • Verified with PayPal itself. Every event is confirmed against your webhook before anything runs.
  • Straight to the customer's PayPal settings. The button lands on their own automatic-payments page. No portal to set up.
  • Knows a suspension from a blip. A paused subscription gets its own shorter sequence. A successful charge stops everything.

Product 03 · Prevention

Expiring-Card Watchdog

The cheapest failed payment is the one that never happens. Once a day it finds Stripe cards about to lapse and nudges customers before the charge can fail.

  • Catches cards about 45 days out. Scans your active subscriptions daily and flags the ones about to expire.
  • One nudge, never a nag. Remembers who it has told, so no customer is emailed twice for the same card.
  • Pairs with Stripe's Card Updater. One free setting refreshes reissued cards silently. The Watchdog catches the rest.

Works with your stack

Your provider. Your channels. Your app.

Everything on this list is built and tested against the real API. If it is not here, we have not shipped it yet, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Payment providers

Where the money comes from

StripePayPal SubscriptionsYours, built to order

Stripe gets the full program: retries, emails, and the watchdog. PayPal gets verified events, the email sequence, and re-checks before every send. We are not limited to these two: if your provider has webhooks and an API, we build and test it for you, and the next ones are already in progress. Email us before you buy.

Notifications

Where you want to hear about it

SlackAny webhookTelegramDiscordGoogle SheetsAirtable

Turn on one channel or all of them. Add a custom note to every message. The sheet log records every outcome, so it doubles as an audit trail your accountant can read.

Your application

What your app gets told

restoredegradenone

Every recovery ends in one plain record with an access signal. Restore on payment. Degrade to read-only when it is truly unrecoverable. Never a hard cancel, ever.

Why RevGuard

Built the way founders actually want it.

The recovery tools that work are expensive and want your billing keys on their servers. RevGuard flips both.

Your data never leaves

It runs on any machine with an internet connection, on automation software you control, and talks to your own Stripe or PayPal. Nothing routes through us. No third party ever sees your customers or their cards.

One price, forever

No percentage of what you recover. No $250-a-month floor. Pay once, keep 100% of every dollar it brings back, this year and every year after.

Network-compliant

Respects Visa's and Mastercard's retry caps out of the box, so aggressive dunning never earns you fines or dispute damage.

Never annoys a payer

Before every retry and every email it re-checks with your provider. The instant an invoice is paid, by retry or by the customer, the whole sequence stops.

Grace, not the guillotine

When recovery finally fails, it tells your app to gently downgrade the account to read-only, not hard-cancel. A soft landing keeps the door open.

Yours in about 15 minutes

Import the workflow, connect your provider, flip on your email. A step-by-step guide walks you through every field. No code to write.

Before
  • A card fails on the 3rd. The provider's default retries run, maybe one generic email goes out.
  • The customer never notices. Access dies on the 10th.
  • You find out in next month's churn report, with no idea why they left.
  • Nobody ever writes the "your card expires soon" email.
After
  • The real decline code is read within seconds and the retry lands on payday.
  • If that fails, a warm email with a one-click fix goes out on day 0, 3, 7, 10, and 13, and stops the moment they pay.
  • Slack, Telegram, or your sheet tells you the same minute, with the outcome.
  • Expiring cards are caught 45 days out, before anything fails.
How it works

From "card declined" to "paid", on autopilot.

01

Payment fails

Stripe or PayPal pings RevGuard. The signature is verified and forged events are dropped.

02

Read the reason

It asks the provider why the card failed and routes on the real decline code.

03

Retry, smartly

On Stripe: payday-timed or fast retries within network limits, quietly, before any email.

04

Nudge if needed

A warm email sequence with a one-click payment-update link. Stops on payment.

05

Log and notify

Records recovered revenue and pings your channels. Recommends grace if it cannot recover.

An honest comparison

What the alternatives cost, and what they do that we do not.

We looked at every serious option before pricing RevGuard. Here is what we found, including the things they do better. Prices are as published by each vendor on 2 September 2026.

Buy one of them instead if

  • You would rather pay $1,500 to $3,000 a year, every year, than spend 15 minutes importing a file.
  • You are comfortable handing your Stripe keys and your customer list to a third party's servers.
  • You do not mind a slice of every recovered dollar leaving with the vendor for as long as you use them.
  • You want SMS and cancel-flow surveys badly enough to rent them monthly, forever.
  • You have someone on staff whose job is logging into vendor dashboards.

Buy RevGuard if

  • You run subscriptions on Stripe or PayPal and want the recovery loop done properly, on any machine you already have, for one payment.
  • You do not want a third party holding your billing keys or taking a cut of your recoveries.
  • You want to be told on Slack, Telegram, Discord, or a sheet, and you want a person on email when something is unclear.
Support

Support around the clock. Always an email away.

No ticket queue and no bot. Write to hello@revguardlabs.org at any hour, any day, and one of the people who built this replies within 12 hours, any day of the week, usually much faster. We stay with you until it runs on your setup.

  • Setup help is included. Importing, wiring the webhook, getting the first email out. If you get stuck, we do it with you.
  • We fix what we ship. If Stripe or PayPal changes something and a workflow breaks, the fix comes to you free.
  • Straight answers. If RevGuard is the wrong fit for you, we will say so before you pay.
Email hello@revguardlabs.org
Security and trust

Handles money like it matters.

  • PCI-safe by design. It never touches a full card number or CVV, only the harmless last four digits and expiry your provider already shows you.
  • Every webhook is verified. Stripe events pass an HMAC signature and timestamp check. PayPal events are confirmed by PayPal itself. Forged or replayed events never run.
  • Workflows pentested. The three workflows were scanned by an automated security agent on 1 September 2026. Zero vulnerabilities found, and the report ships with your purchase.
FAQ

Straight answers.

Do I need to be technical?

If you can import a file and paste an API key, you are set. The guide walks through every field and there is no code to write. Most people are live in about 15 minutes, and if you are not, email us and we finish it with you.

What do I need to run it?

Free automation software such as n8n, running on any machine with an internet connection, plus a Stripe or PayPal account. A laptop works, a small cloud box works, whatever you already have works, and the guide shows you how.

Do you support other payment providers?

Stripe and PayPal ship today, tested against their real APIs, and we are not limited to them. If your provider has webhooks and an API, whether that is Razorpay, Chargebee, Braintree, Paddle, or something in-house, email us before you buy and we build and test it for you. Several are already in progress. Nothing goes on this site until it runs.

Is my customers' data safe?

Completely. It runs entirely on your infrastructure and never sees a full card number. Only you and your provider ever touch the sensitive parts.

Is it really one-time?

Yes. Pay once, own it forever, keep 100% of everything it recovers. No subscription, no percentage, no upsell.

Will it double-email or over-retry?

No. It checks your provider before every action and stops the moment an invoice is paid, and it stays inside card-network retry limits by design.

What does "support at any hour" mean?

Exactly that. Email hello@revguardlabs.org whenever you like and a person replies within 12 hours, any day of the week, never a bot. Setup help is part of the price.

What if it is the wrong fit for me?

We will tell you. If you need SMS, cancel-flow surveys, or a hosted dashboard, one of the tools in the comparison above is the better buy, and we will say which.
